Jazz up your favourite Maggi noodles using no more than three simple ingredients to upgrade your late night snack experience.

Picture this: It’s 3 a.m. and you’re starving. You open the pantry just to see a packet of Maggi Mee, sadly lying on the counter-top. With a grumbling stomach and no other option, you begrudgingly pick it up and start cooking.

Well, what if I told you there was a way to upgrade your Maggi Mee, so you don’t have to be stuck in boring, soupy noodle limbo all the time? Because while our late-night snack habits might never change, we can at least try to spice things up once in a while.

Here are three simple ways to hack your Maggi Mee, that don’t require any more than three extra ingredients – with things you probably already have at home!

1. Peanut Butter Maggi

I know it sounds weird in theory, but many people – myself included – love this combination. Some even compare the taste to Pad Thai, because of the nuttiness it brings out. If you’re still not convinced, know that even cooking guru Martha Stewart adds this confectionery spread into her instant noodles, so it should at least be worth trying out!

INGREDIENTS:

One packet of Curry Maggi Mee

One tablespoon of peanut butter (make sure it’s smooth, not chunky!)

STEPS:

1. Cook noodles as per normal.

2. While still hot, add peanut butter and let dissolve.

3. Enjoy!

2. “Kylie Jenner’s” Maggi

When Kylie Jenner revealed what she puts into her instant noodles, the internet went into a frenzy. Many people called it revolutionary, while others merely gave an eye-roll, saying it had been done for years. But while adding extra ingredients into Maggi Mee isn’t anything ground-breaking, this concoction of butter, egg and garlic powder might be.

INGREDIENTS:

One packet of Maggi Mee (any flavour you like - I chose chicken)

One egg

One tablespoon of butter

One teaspoon of garlic powder

STEPS:

1. Cook noodles as per normal.

2. Beat an egg and mix it into the noodles while cooking.

3. Add butter and garlic powder. Mix well until everything is dissolved.

4. Enjoy!

3. Maggi-n-Cheese

Craving Mac-n-Cheese in the middle of the night? This recipe doubles up as what could be the easiest Mac-n-Cheese recipe ever - because all it takes are four ingredients and zero fuss!

ree

INGREDIENTS:

One packet of chicken flavoured Maggi Mee

One teaspoon of flour

One-quarter cup of milk

Half cup of shredded cheese

STEPS:

1. Cook noodles without seasoning.

2. Drain noodles and return to pan.

3. Add seasoning and flour.

4. Pour milk and stir over medium heat until everything’s well-mixed.

5. Mix in cheese until fully melted.

6. Enjoy!
